West Bengal Govt asks industries to create Action Plan on workplace facilities for women

Kolkata, May 19 (KNN) The government of West Bengal has directed industry associations to submit report on existing situation of women workforce in industrial units
It has asked them to present a report by 22 May, 2023 on this situation along with an Action Plan to improve workplace facilities for women.
The state government has constituted a Women’s Employment Platform to keep a check on workplace facilities for women.
It is an interdepartmental institutional entity mandated to lead public-private coordination, innovation and stock taking to boost participation of women in the labour force of the State.
The parameters must entail name of the district, industrial estate/park/cluster and number of women working there.
Availability of amenities must be mentioned along with Action plan to make facilities available to ensure women friendly for their enhanced participation in the workforce. (KNN Bureau)
