Kolkata, June 1 (KNN) The Directorate of Commercial Taxes, Government of West Bengal has extended the last date of filing of return in Form-lll, under section 6 of the West Bengal State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1,979.

Last date of transmission of data electronically of that return as specified now is June 15, 2023 and last date of furnishing paper form of that return as specified now is June 22, 2023.

“Any return for the said period of Y.E. 31.03.23 having been filed within the extended date, vide this order, as specified in the Table above, with the tax payable there-under having been paid within 30.04.23, shall be deemed to have been furnished within the prescribed date in terms of the proviso to sub rule (2) of rule 12 of the West Bengal State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Rules, 1979,” read the notice.

“Accordingly no late fee shall be payable under sub-section (2) of section (6) for such return,” it said.

Further, the Governor extended the last date of filing application for settlement under section 5 of the said Act till the 30 June, 2023.

“In exercise of the power conferred by subsection (1) of Section 5 of the West Bengal Sales Tax (Settlement of Dispute) Act, 1999 (West Ben. Act IV of 1999), as subsequently amended, (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) the Governor is pleased hereby to extend the last date of filing application for settlement under section 5 of the said Act till the 30th June, 2023,” said the notice.  (KNN Bureau)
