With Advantage Assam Summit round the corner, MSMEs hope for big announcements
New Delhi, Jan 5 (KNN) With the the Global investors Summit- Advantage Assam less than a month away, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the northeastern state are expecting the government to come up with some big announcements for the sector, Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) informed.
Talking to KNN, R.S Joshi, Chairman of Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) informed that the states there are facing the problem of blockage of investments in the backdrop of discontinuation of the North East Industrial Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP).
Joshi informed that the industry is expecting the government to fulfil its promise of coming up with similar framework in order to ensure steady investments in the north east region.
Earlier in October 2017, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal during an event held the curtain raiser ceremony of the upcoming summit.
The main aim of the upcoming summit is to exhibit the different investment opportunities available in the state of Assam.
Different sectors including IT & ITES, agriculture and food processing, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, tourism, hospitality and wellness, river transport and port townships are to be the prime focus sectors of the summit.
Also the summit is expected to highlight opportunities in energy, plastic and petro chemicals and handloom and textiles sectors.
The upcoming Summit is scheduled on February 3-4 in Assam. (KNN/DA)
