Women Entrepreneur Park proposed for Thandavapura, awaits nod from MSME Ministry

New Delhi, July 19 (KNN) In a bid to promote entrepreneurship among women of the region, the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) and District Industries centre have proposed a Women Entrepreneur Park in Thandavapura region of Karnataka.

A detailed project report for the development of the park has been curated and is sent to the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) seeking funds and approval for the implementation of the project.

In a press interview Ramakrishne Gowda, Joint Director of DIC informed about the overwhelming interest among the women entrepreneurs in the region. So far there have been over 135 registration seeking space to develop the MSME units; the numbers are likely to rise.

Key focus areas of the industrial park would include sectors such as drinking water packaging plants, textile garments, electronic goods, steel furniture, wooden furniture and food and fruit industry. Also software and IT based units will be accommodated in the park.

KIADB has identified 45 acres of loan for the project, which is to be fragmented in different sizes based upon the nature and requirement of the MSME unit.  Also there have been talks with Karnataka State Financial Corporation seeking financial assistance for women entrepreneurs. (KNN/ DA)
