Work tourism to be revolutionary opportunity in Kerala: Industries & Coir Minister Rajeev

Kochi, 29 Nov (KNN) According to Minister of Industries, Law and Coir in the Government of Kerala P Rajeev said that work tourism will be the next revolutionary change in Kerala as owing to the proliferation of work from home, anyone from any part of the world can come and work in Kerala.

He was speaking during the annual general meeting of the Association of Planters of Kerala recently.

After inaugurating the event, the MoS informed the attendees about the developments and said that an outline of plantation directorate has been formulated and the state will have a plantation directorate this year itself.

Addressing the ongoing legal issues faced by the plantation sector, Minister Rajeeve said that the problems will be resolved in presence of the Chief Minister during a meeting which will be held comprising of the ministers from revenue and industries department including senior officials.

He said that this step taken by the government is to generate more jobs and investment and to benefit the MSME sector.

The Minister stated that basic facilities will be provided as per their need as Keralites has set a new history of turning crises into opportunities.

He said the government’s decision to repeal or amend 227 obsolete laws was in response to persistent demand from industry and commerce.

Industries Department Principal Secretary APM Mohammad Haneesh and UPASI president MP Cherian were the special guests who attended the meeting.
