YSR MP demands container manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh to support MSMEs into exports

New Delhi,  Mar 16 (KNN) To help MSMEs of Andhra Pradesh in the export sector, YSR Congress Party MP, Chinta Anuradha has put forward the demand for establishing a container manufacturing unit in the land allotted to NTPC and BHEL in the Chittoor district.

Speaking at the Lok Sabha, she said the Andhra Pradesh government had reached out for assistance from the central government in setting up of container manufacturing unit in the state to address the problem of container shortage and cater to the needs of India's growing exports.

“Andhra Pradesh with the second-largest cargo handling capacity and immense growth potential, we wanted the assistance from the central government,” the MP from Amalapuram said.

She highlighted the case of IRCTC stating that it does not offer attractive packages to promote tourism in South India.

Anuradha suggested that affordable railway tour packages to Andhra Pradesh will immensely benefit the tourism of the State as well as the railways.

“Developing a tourist package by the IRCTC for these temples in Andhra Pradesh would attract pilgrims from all over the country and will contribute significantly in revenue generation,” she said.

As several towns and villages in Andhra Pradesh surround the railway lines, she said the Ministry must consult the State Government and identify the railway crossings that require construction of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Road Under Bridges (RUBs).

She also called out for a separate Railway Recruitment Board to cater to the requirements of the new South Coast Railway Zone as well as to increase job creation in the country. (KNN Bureau)
