To promote exports, Commerce Secretary Rita Teaotia said the commerce ministry is working on several areas, including efficient logistics management, involving states, increasing international engagement, ways to increase value addition and pushing MSME sector.

Commenting over the India’s future trade strategy, Teaotia said “we are looking at increasing trade as a tool for economic growth and job creation.”

To mark the first anniversary of Centre for Regional Trade an interactive session was held on global and regional trade dynamics: India’s future trade strategy at India Habitat Centre in the national capital.

Speaking at the event, she said a first effort that we have made under Make in India was to identify the champions sectors for the country.
