The India MSME Expo  2016 running at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi  seems to have failed to generate enthusiasm among the potential buyers and visitors alike.

The much hyped Expo inaugurated by heavy weight Ministers like Suresh Prabhu, Smriti Irani, Ravi Shankar Prasad among others could not mobilize buyers and the visitor alleys remain rather empty.

The density of footfall is directly proportional to how advance or effective the marketing strategies are. But the number of visitors who actually help yielding positive outcomes from such exhibitions was not that appealing during the Expo.

KNN caught up with some key exhibitors to know their views on not so effective marketing and less footfalls.

Pulak Shukla from Signature Global said, “The response is average.”

Ajay Chandalia, Director, Share Samadhan said, “Very few service sector companies have come here.”

Pratyush Kukreja, Co-Founder, Yumigo, said, “We have expected a wider outreach and large footfall from across the city but so far it is little disappointing. I think may be weather is to be blamed. Tomorrow we hope that a decent turnout would be here. Business partners are coming in but not the customers.”

Shivam, Co-Founder, Delhi Startups, said, “You have to appreciate one thing, that the people who are coming in are actually the Startups. The MSME forum has taken an initiative to promote the startup ecosystem but footfall is less.”

The empty parkings and not so crowded stalls clearly indicate that such events require huge marketing efforts. The efforts of the companies participating and the organizers brainstorming in planning the events have to be channelized to give out outcomes. (KNN Bureau)
