Eyeing at facilitating support to the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises of the region, MSME Expo 2017, National Level Vendor Development Programme cum Industrial Exhibition began today in the National Capital.
The event has been organized by MSME development institute in association with SIDBI, Diesel Loco Modernization Works(DMW),Rail Coach Factory(RCF), Kapurthala and Central Organizaton of Workshop(COFMOW) and will provide marketing opportunity to MSEs engaged in manufacture of Engineering Products procured by Railways, Govt. Organistions and CPSUs.
S.R. Samuel, joint Development Commissioner said that the goal of MAKE IN INDIA could be accomplished by not only making quality products but also market availability, and the exhibition would to bridge the gap between the MSMEs and PSUs that the country had been facing.
Addressing the event Shri Vijay Kumar, Director, MSME-Development Institute Okhla,New Delhi said that government of India and ministry of MSME started public procurement policy in 2012 to promote MSMEs and in April 2015 it was made mandatory for all CPSUs(Central Public Sector Undertakings) to procure 20% from MSMEs.
The director also said that the MSME institute had done rigorous exercise to select 65-70 enterprises which would showcase their products.
He added that the event would provide platform for government, MSME ministry, PSUs especially Indian Railways and MSMEs to enter into partnerships. (KNN/AG)
