Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra will be meeting the industry associations today to seek views on the crucial Goods & Services Tax (GST), DC MSME S N Tripathi told KNN.

Tripathi, while talking to KNN to the side-lines of Roundtable on 'GST: Identifying implications and facilitating adoption by MSMEs', MSME Ministry is taking all efforts to make GST more and more acceptable for the MSME sector. The event was organized by industry body FISME and SIDBI.

He said Ministry will support handholding support to the micro and small entrepreneurs who are coming under the tax ambit for the first time under GST regime.

After the lowering of exemption limit from Rs 1.5 crore turnover to Rs 25 lakhs, millions of micro and small enterprises will come under the GST regime now.

Recognizing that digitization will be a major challenge in this, Tripathi said Ministry will support them to adopt digitization. (Watch Full Video)
