The MSMEs in the North Easter region, which were very disappointed earlier, have a new enthusiasm amongst them to grow, Union Minister Jitendra Singh told KNN in an interview. Singh, who is the Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern (NE) Region, said that new enthusiasm has risen amongst the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region in the last two years. “The industries were unhappy in the NE region earlier but now after Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given priority to NE and keeps visiting the region, it has given a new hope to the people,” Singh said. “Rail and road networks are getting stronger there,” said the Minister. Singh also talked about the special policies for the region, and said, “We have special policies like road development scheme which were not there earlier. We are also coming up with broad-gauge rail network to connect the region with rest of the country.” Slowly NE is getting priority in every policy, he added.
