BJP will celebrate 8 November, 2017 as “anti-black money day” to commemorate one year of demonetization of the currency. Addressing the media at BJP headquarters, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that all the union leaders and senior leaders will participate in the event.

Jaitley said that when BJP came to power ,it successfully constituted Special Task Force  mandated by Supreme Court and made laws to curb black money in the country .He added that the government also reworked on benami transactions and  double tax avoidance treaties  with Cyprus, Singapore and Mauritius.

He further said Demonetization was huge step taken by the BJP government and has fulfilled all its objectives of squeezing cash currency in the economy, digitizing commercial transactions and widening the tax base. GST is a new transition which will hamper the generation of unaccounted cash. (KNN/AG)
