The partnership between Amazon and FISME will help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) unleash the opportunities of e-commerce, said Anil Bhardwaj, Secretary General of Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME).

He said this while addressing the gathering at FISME-Amazon Digital Utsav where MoU was also signed between the two agreeing to educate the country's vast MSME sector about e-commerce platforms.

He said that FISME will work in ironing out the policy concepts and Amazon will take care of the platform and logistics need.

"And together we will build the capacity of MSME who have potential and are ready to join," Bhardwaj said.

With emergence of e-commerce, it was thought that millions of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) would be able to export by sending goods to small consignments through courier, he said.

It was estimated that there was a potential of export through courier in India approximately to US$ 10 billion, he added.

“We have not been able to realize even the 10% of it,” Bhardwaj said.
