Tiruchi to get govt supported mini textile park soon

New Delhi, Jan 17 (KNN) The government is soon to open a mini textile park in the Manapparai region of Triuchi in Tamil Nadu eyeing at housing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the garment sector.

The Tiruchi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries' Association (TIDITSSIA) is exploring the various sandbanks available for the purpose.

The planned mini textile park (MTP) will be set up by the government and is to offer substantial subsidies for the MSMEs.

Commenting on the latest developments, N. Kanagasabapathy, President of Tiruchi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries' Association (TIDITSSIA) in a press interview said that the location of the MTP with common facility centres for design ideation, training, and sales in Manapparai area will be ideal for the development of the readymade garments business in Puthanatham town.  

Under the proposed Mini Textile Park scheme a minimum of 10  units on a minimum area of 10 acres are to be developed.

In order to encourage the MSME entrepreneurs enter these parks, the government will be offering  subsidy up to 50 per cent with a maximum ceiling of Rs. 2.5 crore under the project.

Once the park project comes into action, the exports from the region are expected to boost up to different parts of the country. (KNN/DA)
