New Delhi, Dec 4 (KNN) Flooded with around 10,000 refund claim applications, GSTN today told exporters to ensure that the refund claims don’t exceed the GST paid. GSTN said that the filing GSTR-3B is the prerequisite for refund claim and amount of refund claimed in Table-6A should not be more than the amount paid in GSR-3B of that month.

"As on November 30, 5,677 applications have already been filed by exporters using RFD-01 and 4,386 applications have been filed by them using Table-6A of GSTR-1," said a statement by the GST Network.

The finance Ministry last week said that exporters had claimed refunds of Rs 6,500 crore in the first four months of the GST roll out and the refund delay is due to the wrong details filled by the exporters in Table -6A.

GSTN had reiterated the exporters should fill correct details in the Table-6A as the refund amount  is generated by automated system by  matching information furnished by the exporters  on the GST portal and Customs system. Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) had started issuing refunds to exporters who have claimed refund based on shipping bill by filling up Table 6A. (KNN/AG)
