Alibaba to assist SMEs go online, expand businesses to global markets

New Delhi, August 17 (KNN) Eyeing at assisting the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to go digital, the e-commerce giant Ali Baba is planning to conduct training programs for the SMEs in Coimbatore region of Tamil Nadu.

Alibaba Head, Global Supplier Department, Jack Zhang informed about the plans during a press meet in the city.

Zhang said that the small and medium level enterprises have huge potential that needs to be explored. Also with the increasing use of internet and technology, it is important for the Indian SMEs to be able to find new buyers for their products online.

He further said that his company is willing to offer workshops to help the small and medium enterprises from the region post their products online on the e commerce websites.

Zhang asserted that the SMEs are the key source for trade for any country, once these enterprises start competing at global levels, it adds to overall productivity as well as growth of the economy.

The announcements were made during a workshop for textile re-sellers in Coimbatore themed “Infinity-Grow your business” focussed on assisting exporters and traders with the government policies related to exports and innovations in the SME sector.
