French Minister for arm forces meets Sitharaman, cooperation in defence manufacturing on the agenda

New Delhi, Oct 28 (KNN) Eyeing at increased cooperation in the field of defence between the two countries, the Raksha the French Minister for the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, met her Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman in the national capital.
The Ministers discussed the ongoing initiatives in order to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation as a key pillar of the strategic partnership between India and France, a release from the Ministry of Defence informed.
They further discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest.
The two Ministers also reviewed developments in defence equipment and industry cooperation, France being a major partner.
During the course of the meeting, India-France agreed to cooperate on projects for defence manufacturing under the Make in India initiative as well as promote defence technology and R&D cooperation, the release added.
Also India and France will explore additional measures to facilitate operational level interactions between their respective armed forces. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/DA)
