India-Belgium MoU in ICT & E gets cabinet nod

New Delhi, Jan 4 (KNN) The earlier signed Pact between India and Belgium in the field of Information Communication Technology & Electronic (ICT&E) got the cabinet approval recently.
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister has been apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both countries on Cooperation in the field of Information Communication Technology & Electronic (ICT&E), an official statement said.
The agreement between India and Belgium was signed earlier during the state visit of King Philippe of the Belgium to India in November last year.
Taking forward the vision of Digital India, the MoU intends sharing best practices in ICT&E policy focusing on developing manufacturing & services, e-governance, exchange programs, cyber security, conferences and research.
Belgium is the India’s second largest trading partner within Europe and expertise in technology sector. Both the countries are close & friendly on trading terms.
Commenting over the newly approved pact, the Ministry informed that the government has been keen in collaborating with various countries for bilateral and multilateral agreements for achieving government’s agenda of Digital India.
This initiative is expected to further attract investment and explore opportunities in technology sector, the statement further added. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/MG)
