Netanyahu in India, delegation includes 102 businessmen from Israeli companies

New Delhi, Jan 15 (KNN) In an attempt to strengthen ties between the two countries, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on a visit to India with a 130 member delegation consisting of businessmen from 102 Israeli companies.
In a warm gesture, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Netanyahu at the airport, keeping aside the official protocol.
The six day visit of the Israeli Prime Minister is being seen strategic towards bilateral trade ties.
Upon coming to New Delhi, Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the relationship between India and Israel is “like a marriage made in heaven.
Data of previous 25 years suggests that the bilateral trade between India and Israel has increased from $200 million to more than $4 billion (excluding defence) in 2016-17.
Despite the positive trend, the numbers stands low as compared to India’s economic relations with other countries.
Also earlier experts suggested that the delegation from Israel is likely to hold talks with India on the FTAs that concluded at the previous set deadline. The Israeli Prime Minister will also visit Mumbai and Gujarat during the sic day tour. (KNN/DA)
