Government asks for suggestions from stakeholders for making schemes for MSMEs effective

New Delhi, Jan 17 (KNN) MSME Federations like FISME and MSME Development Institutes should organise focused group discussions on how to  develop effective schemes for MSMEs.

This was mentioned by the Development commissioner MSME Ram Mohan Mishra at an workshop on industrial eco- system of Delhi.

Mishra was addressing the workshop organised jointly by FISME, the national federation of MSMEs and MSME Development Institute New Delhi.

He agreed that the scheme are presently catering to a minuscule section of the vast MSME community and need to be broad based on a cloud mode delivery.

Mohanjeet Singh Principal Secretary industries, Delhi, announced at the workshop that DSIIDC  will take up maintenance of DDA  promoted  industrial estates.

Vijay Kumar Director MSME DI New Delhi explained to the participants the various scheme Government operate for MSMEs.

The present state of eco system in industrial ‘district’s  at all India level is pathetic and it is equally bad in the national capital.

The industrial estates which were once showpieces of industrial infrastructure are left with crumbling roads and choked sewers and many don’t even have proper public  transportation links.

Realising the fact that such an eco - system cannot germinate innovative enterprises, FISME took the initiative to start a Government entrepreneur dialogue.

The first of such interactive meeting was addressed by senior officers from both central and state Government and chaired by the Development Commissioner MSME.

Principal Secretary industries, Delhi, announced at the workshop that Government is aware about the roadblocks MSMEs are facing and  he will take up meeting with all concerned departments on specific issues.

Presidents and senior office bearers from all important Industries associations participated in the workshop and elaborated the many archaic dictums still enforced on MSMEs.

The issue of lease holding of the industrial plots came repeatedly which is making impossible for the MSMEs to offer  the land and building as collateral for bank loan.

Industry leaders also mentioned about making flagship schemes like CLCSS dormant by the Government.

Summing up the issues raised in the workshop the development commissioner insisted that FISME and MSME DI  Delhi develop time bound  FGDs to come out with specific suggestions for the Government to address the woes of MSMEs. (KNN/DB)
