MSME Ministry to Inaugurate Rs 156-Crore Technology Centre in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Sep 9 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) will inaugurate a new Technology Centre at Devanahalli, Bengaluru, on September 10, 2026, with an investment of Rs 156 crore.

Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for MSME, will inaugurate the centre in the presence of Krishna Byre Gowda, Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Karnataka, and Vijayanand Kashappanavar, Minister of Small Scale Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of Karnataka.

The Technology Centre has been developed on 10 acres of land provided by the Government of Karnataka and includes a Training Block, Production Block, Administrative Block, residential facilities for boys and girls, staff accommodation, an executive hostel and other supporting facilities.

The centre will focus on Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) and will provide MSMEs access to technologies including Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) lines, additive manufacturing, CNC 5-Axis and 3-Axis machines and Electric Discharge Machines (EDM).

It will also provide testing laboratories, design assistance and business and technical advisory services to support MSMEs and industry in improving technological capabilities, productivity and competitiveness.

The centre’s catchment area includes industries and institutions such as Mitsubishi Electric India, Texas Instruments, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Airbus, Boeing, Philips, Wipro, GE and Centum Electronics, along with MSMEs working in aerospace, defence, semiconductor design, industrial automation and advanced electronics manufacturing.

The Technology Centre will provide industry-grade training in embedded system design, PCB design and assembly, automation and robotics, maintenance and repair, among other areas. It is equipped to train 10,000 trainees annually.

The inauguration programme will also feature an exhibition showcasing the contribution of Indian MSMEs to the aerospace and ESDM sectors.

The Ministry of MSME operates a nationwide network of Technology Centres providing technology development, industry-grade training, design, prototyping, testing and production support to MSMEs.
