New Delhi, Mar 17 (KNN) Highlighting the initiatives undertaken by the government in the last three years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the govt programs including Startup India, Standup India and Skill India are dedicated towards generation of self employment opportunities and are aimed towards Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

PM Modi also spoke of MUDRA scheme under which, the PM informed that so far the government has disbursed more than 11 crore loans. Informing of the target under MUDRA in the present fiscal, the Prime Minister said this years budget earmarks over 3 lakh crores towards the scheme.

The Prime Minister further said that the Government is working with a holistic approach keeping in mind the aspirations of the poor, lower-middle and middle classes. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana has become an effective means to empower youth and women.

On the economic front, in the last three to four years, India has lent strength to global economic growth as well. He said the country is performing well on all macro-economic parameters.

The rating agencies are revising India's ratings upwards, the Prime Minister added. PM Modi made the remarks during the Rising India Summit organized by Network 18. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/DA)
