Open to partnership with local SMEs in Defence Sector, Ordnance Factory says

New Delhi, Dec 16 (KNN) Batting possible collaborations with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the defence sector, Ordnance Factory Board Deputy Director General Atul Gupta said that the firm is keen on tying up with MSMEs.

Gupta said that the Ordnance factories are looking forward to partner with MSMEs to ensure maximum output for the defence preparedness of the armed forces in the country.

Also the factory is eyeing at higher indigenisation in sector under Buy Indian make Indian scheme, he added.

He further voiced his support for the public-private partnership model in the country especially in the defence sector for the industry to progress.

It is important to be self-reliant in defence production, and MSMEs add to that role

Commenting over the Defence procurement Procedures, Gupta said that the new roadmap laid by the government is in line with the flagship Make in India projects.

Listing the items, he informed that at present the factories procure items including raw materials, finished and semi-finished components and packaging material from the micro, small and medium enterprises.
