New Delhi, July 16 (KNN) Khadi is becoming most favorite brand all over the world including India, said Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) North Zone Chairperson Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat.

She was speaking at Montenegro’s National Day Celebrations that happened in India on July 13, 2018.

KVIC joined hands with Montenegro’s to promote khadi internationally. The occasion was graced by Chairman KVIC Vinay Kumar Saxena, Ugandan delegation led by its Goodwill Ambassador Renu Varun.

While having interaction with the delegation, Dr. Hina said that it was the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that this untapped sector witnessed a rocketing growth.

Hina said that PM has specially emphasized to provide special focus on the growth of village Industries and welfare of the Khadi Artisans.

She said, “PM has also emphasized on the ideology of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi who had once said that Khadi is the sun of the village solar system.The planets are the various industries which can support Khadi in return for the heat and the sustenance they derive from it.”

Further, she added that without khadi industries cannot grow. While on the other hand she said “without the revival of other industries, Khadi could not make further progress.”

In the meantime, "Uganda eagerly waits to collaborate with KVIC, to fetch some productive output as it can add value to the economy of the country, Dr. Hina added.

The Ugandan delegation said they were overwhelmed to see the KVIC programs and their impact on job creation, particularly for women.
