New Delhi, Nov 16 (KNN) Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi yesterday inaugurated “Hunar Haat”, a platform where exquisite pieces of Handicraft & Handloom prepared by master artisans from across the country are being displayed. “Hunar Haat” has become a successful mission to provide employment and employment opportunities and global market for thousands of master artisans, craftsmen and culinary experts.

While inaugurating the platform the minister said that this year “Hunar Haat” would showcase the products made by inmates of Tihar jail also. These products include handmade furniture, handlooms, handicrafts, bakery items, organic oil, spices and grain. 

He said that Hunar Haat is an impressive gathering of master artisans & craftsmen from “Tihar to Tripura, Kashmir to Kanyakumari & Karnataka to Kolkata. It had provided not only a platform to master artisans and craftsmen to display their rich heritage and skill but had also provided them domestic and international markets.

Union Minister further  said that “Hunar Haat” would also be organised at different cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bhopal and other places in coming days and the ministry had been working to establish “Hunar Hub” in all states of the country where artisans would be provided training as per present requirement.
