Dy CM Nirmal Singh exhorts need to set MSMEs in J&K; assures Govt support

New Delhi, May 1 (KNN) The Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Nirmal Kumar Singh assured to address issues related to the industrial sector raised by Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) during an event

During the event, Lalit Mahajan, President of BBIA raised several issues concerning the MSME industry in Jammu and Kashmir.  

Mahajan said that the industrial sector in the state is in dire need of an extension of the present fiscal incentives of the State/Central Government in the upcoming GST regime.

He further brought into notice of the Deputy CM, demand of an extension of DIPP package of incentives and income tax holidays for the existing as well for the new units in the state.  

The Industry body president also requested for a ‘one-time’ amnesty to clear the power dues by waving the surcharge.

Responding to their demands, Singh emphasized the need to come up with MSME units in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, he said that this will give rise to entrepreneurship and generate employment for the local youths.

The event was attended by Industry and Commerce Minister of the state Chander Parkash, MLC Vikram Randhawa and other officials from the State Government. (KNN/ DA)
