GST transition smooth in Uttarakhand, dedicated GST expert teams for MSMEs in place: Pant

New Delhi, Sept 9 (KNN) Transition into the Goods and Services tax (GST) for the state of Uttarakhand has been smooth with over 97,000 taxpayers including traders and Micro, Small and medium Enterprises (MSMEs) successfully migrating into the new tax regime, State Finance Minister Prakash Pant said.

Pant in a press interview said that the GST has been in a swing and the collection of tax is expected to be around Rs 1,850 crore.

The State government has constituted special teams to look into the different sectors including MSMEs, textiles, and infrastructure etc. because of which the transition by large has been smooth in the state, Pant informed

He further said that the state government through its sales tax wing is closely observing the issues of the different sectors of the state relating to the newly implemented tax regime.

Listing the measures taken by the state government, Pant added that ever since the implementation of the GST, there have been several successful measures taken to educate the industry as well as the traders with regard to the One Nation One tax.

Responding to the confusions over the old work and payments that are due prior to the implementation of the GST, Pant informed that a  meeting is called and a decision will be taken soon. (KNN/ DA)
