MSMEs in J&K worry as no official notification of announced incentives released so far

New Delhi, Sept 19 (KNN) The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state of Jammu and Kashmir have expressed concerns over the delay in official notification of the announced incentives for the state under the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The Association of Industries (AOI), Jammu, recently met officials of the ruling coalition and urged for a priority approach for the matter.

The association informed the officials that the local industries due to non-issuance of assured notifications to grant financial incentives and exemptions.

The association further apprised the officials that local entrepreneurs are already worried under the newly rolled out Goods and Services Tax (GST), while the announcement of sops did bring in some relief, but without implementation of the announcement, it is of no good to the industry.

AOI also mentioned that it is not the first time that the government is delaying the issuance of a notification, earlier too there have been instances in which such loose attitude has caused the industries a great deal of loss.

Responding to the complaints, the official assured that the requisite necessary steps shall be initiated on priority and every required step shall be taken to protect the interest of local industries largely established in Jammu region. (KNN/ DA)
