Bengaluru, July 27 (KNN) The two day strike by the State Transport undertakings has considerably disrupted  industrial operations, in particular, affecting the MSMEs in addition to the disruption caused  to normal civic life, said Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA).

The MSMEs who employ workers often commuting 10 to 20 kms from their homes to work place or the factory have witnessed an absence of 20 to 30% of the workers in the last two days causing loss of production, A Padmanabha, President, Kassia said.

On a conservative estimate,   the loss is likely to the range of Rs.75 to Rs. 100 crores in the State, at a time when MSMEs and industry in general are going through an extremely difficult patch, he added.

The industry body has urged the Government to enter into serious negotiations with the Unions to ensure that the strike is immediately called off in the interest of the economy and general public. (KNN Bureau)
