Uttarakhand Cabinet decides tweaking MSME Policy; give tourism industry status

Dehradun, May 18 (KNN) In Uttarakhand, Tourism sector will soon get an industry status and get benefits given to the MSMEs  after the state cabinet took decision keeping in view the huge contribution of the sector towards state's economy.

Government spokesperson Madan Kaushik said the tourism sector would get the concessions and benefits extended to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“The cabinet has also decided to bring Ayush and wellness centres under the mega industries investment policy. The concessions in bank loans and state GST will now be applicable to tourism-related products,” he said.

He said the state government has amended the MSME Policy to give industry status to many tourism related activities like yoga, bungee jumping, rafting, camping etc.
