Government Launches Rs 530-Crore Skills Outcome Fund To Boost Employment
New Delhi, Jul 27 (KNN) The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the proposed Rs 530 crore Skills Outcomes Fund.
It is an initiative aimed at providing industry-aligned skilling, employment and sustainable livelihood opportunities to more than 2 lakh young people.
Rs 530 Crore Fund to Support Outcome-Based Skilling
Anchored by the NSDC under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the fund will be supported through government funding, corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions and philanthropic capital.
The Skills Outcomes Fund adopts an outcome-based approach by linking payments to measurable employment outcomes rather than training completion alone.
The initiative seeks to improve accountability among training providers while enhancing employment opportunities for skilled candidates.
Innovative Financing Models to Strengthen Skilling Ecosystem
The fund will also pilot innovative interventions such as skill vouchers, skills financing mechanisms and entrepreneurship-led models to encourage greater industry participation and innovation in the skilling ecosystem.
According to the NSDC, the initiative aims to strengthen India's workforce by improving access to quality skill development aligned with industry requirements while promoting sustainable livelihoods and employment generation.
The fund is expected to play a key role in building a results-driven skilling ecosystem that better matches evolving labour market needs and supports long-term economic growth.
