BSE SME market cap crosses Rs 6,800 crore; Learning Edge Academy gets listed

Mumbai, Apr 22 (KNN)  Even as market capitalisation of companies listed on the BSE SME platform reached Rs 6,822.57 crore in trading today, Learning Edge Academy of Professionals Limited has been listed as the 57th company.

Delhi based Learning Edge Academy of Professionals Limited, an e-Learning, educational technology platform has come out with 25,20,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each fully paid-up.

While there were 12 gainers to include GCM Secu, Women’s Next Loungeries Limited, Amrapali Cap and Subhtex among others; there were six losers such as GCMCOMM, Tiger Logs, RCL Retail, Kushal, Captain Poly and Sunstar Realty.

BSE which has 57 companies listed on its SME dedicated platform had crossed the mark of USD 1 million last month within 2 years of its commencement, and it now has an additional 14 companies in the process of listing on the platform in the next one month.

Recently, Haryana based Women's Next Loungeries Limited and R&B Denims came out with a public issue on the platform.

Some of the companies lined up to be listed on the platform are Dhanuka Commercial Limited, Sirohia & Sons Limited and Starlit Power Systems Limited.

Average market capitalisation per company works out to be more than Rs 100 crore, which is similar to main Board companies on BSE, a release by BSE has said.

BSE commenced the SME platform on March 2012 and in over two- year period, BSE has achieved more than 90 per cent market share helping Indian SMEs create a market capitalisation of more than USD 1 billion.  Average IPO size on BSE SME is close to Rs 9 crore per issue.

BSE SME Platform offers an entrepreneur an investor friendly environment, which enables the listing of SMEs from the unorganized sector scattered throughout India, into a regulated and organized sector.  (KNN/ES)
