Facility for Casual Taxpayer registration live on GSTN

New Delhi, Aug 11 (KNN) With more than a month into the Goods and Services Tax (GST) that was rolled out by the government, the Goods and Services Tax Network is now registering the casual taxpayers on its portal.

GSTN Chairman Navin Kumar in a press interview informed about the development.

Kumar said that the portal now has the facility live for the registration of casual taxpayers.

As per the GST rules, a casual taxpayers is defined as a person who occasionally undertakes transactions in a state or a union territory where the person doesn’t have a place of business.

Under the clause of the Goods and Services Tax, for a person registering as a casual taxpayer, his registration will be valid for a period of 90 days.

A casual taxpayer who does the business occasionally can now log on to the GSTN portal and complete the registration procedure.

The Goods and Services Tax was implemented on July 1, marking it as one of the biggest tax reform in the country since independence. (KNN/ DA)
