Market cap of firms listed on BSE SME inching towards Rs 9,500 crore

Mumbai, Nov 20 (KNN)  Market capitalisation of companies listed on the BSE SME platform inched towards the crucial Rs 9,500 crore mark to settle at Rs 9447.73 crore in trading today.

Among the 27 companies that were actively traded, there were 8 gainers and 13 losers while 6 remained unchanged.

Top gainers were HPC Biosciences Ltd (20 per cent), GCM Commodity and Derivatives Ltd (14.85 per cent), Eco Friendly Food Processing Park Ltd (12.77 per cent) and Bothra Metals and Alloys Ltd (5.22 per cent).

Losers on the other hand included – RCL Retail Ltd (-4.93 per cent), Ace Tours Worldwide Ltd (-4.85 per cent), VCU Data Management Ltd (-2.70 per cent), and R&B Denims Ltd (-2.22 per cent).

There has been a lot more activity on the bourse these days with more companies listing, taking the total number to 78. 

Several other companies are waiting to be listed on the platform such as Karnavati Finance Limited, Raghuvansh Agrofarms Limited, Captain Pipes Limited and OP Chains Limited among others.

BSE commenced the SME platform on March 2012 and in over two- year period, BSE has achieved more than 90 per cent market share helping Indian SMEs create a market capitalisation of more than USD 1 billion.  Average IPO size on BSE SME is close to Rs 9 crore per issue. 

BSE SME Platform offers an entrepreneur an investor friendly environment, which enables the listing of SMEs from the unorganized sector scattered throughout India, into a regulated and organized sector.  (KNN/ES)
