New Delhi (KNN) Weekday mornings are crazy in any household, especially when the woman of the house is working. For a working woman every minute counts. I am sure that all the working woman must be praying for two three things for sure in a day – 2-4 extra hours in a day; full 30 days attendance of maids; and traffic in the bosses route.

Well...as we can’t do anything about the three, I can give you few round the clock tips to maximize your time smartly.

1.    Don’t crave for ‘5 minutes’ extra sleep in the morning. Believe me, this is most dangerous thing to do, if you want to manage your time efficiently in the morning. I know that putting off your alarm and sleeping for another few minutes is the most relaxing thing in the morning, but it is enough to put you on toes and make you feel stressed or calm the entire day.

2.    Clean the kitchen last night: One of the most annoying things in the morning is to see a messy kitchen when you enter to make your first cup of tea. Cleaning that mess not only takes your precious time in the morning, but also makes you crib for the mess. Make a habit of cleaning the kitchen by putting the used utensils aside, moping the stove and keeping the cups and pan right in front to help you start your day smoothly.

3.    Stick to Your Basic Wardrobe: What more takes up your time in the mornings other than choosing the ‘Dress of the Day’, needless to say, especially for the ladies. Do not waste your time trying different outfits or finding a perfect combination every day. Try to select yours and your dependant’s outfits a night before and keep them ready to wear for next morning.

4.    Keep Your Bags Ready: Make sure that whatever you need to carry next day, is packed in the bag and waiting by the door. Most of the time in the morning also goes in organising and gathering the things you need to carry next day like chargers, power banks, wallet, make-up kit, hanky etc.

5.    Arrive early and Stay Calm: Even if you are ready half an hour before your target time, leave early for office. That will keep you calm and give you some extra time to have a cup of tea, settle down peacefully and prioritize your to-do list at work.

6.    Utilize your Lunch Hour: Make sure you make use of your lunch hour by making phone calls or coordinating with your kid’s tuitions teachers, dance teachers, maids, tailors etc etc.

7.    Make Meal Once, Eat them Twice: I know most of the women think that by making fresh food, you get a quicker way to your man’s heart. But believe me, it’s a myth. Try to cook the meal once a day and eat it twice. For example, make two vegetables simultaneously and make the rotis or rice right before you eat.

8.    Avoid shopping on the way home: Remember, there is nothing on the way in the big cities now. Stopping on your way just to buy one thing also will consume at least 45 minutes of your precious time. Factors like traffic, parking, getting a cart, shopping, standing in the queue for payment takes a lot of time. Make a list of all the things you need and buy them at once in the weekend.

9.    Keep Going: I know you start dreaming about your bed and recliners from the time you leave for home after a long and tiring day, but even if you plan to sit for one minute, the next thing you know, an hour has gone!!! So keep going and you will have more time to relax at the end of the day.

10. Have a sound sleep...Now don’t plan to save your time when you are sleeping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Happy dreaming!!!!!!!!!
