India And US Strengthen Collaboration On Local And Global Challenges

New Delhi, Sep 17 (KNN) India and the United States are deepening their cooperation to address critical local and global challenges, according to Nisha Biswal, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

Biswal recently concluded a visit to Mumbai and New Delhi from September 10-14, where she highlighted the DFC's ongoing partnership with India in advancing key growth and development initiatives.

During her visit, Biswal announced USD 70 million in new DFC investments aimed at supporting affordable home loans in India and enhancing vaccine manufacturing capabilities.

This investment is part of broader efforts to drive long-term growth in India and across the Indo-Pacific region, a message she emphasised at the US-India Business Council's (USIBC) India Ideas Summit.

Biswal also participated in an event organised by the Milken Institute, which brought together US public sector pension fund executives to explore potential investment opportunities in India.

Additionally, she hosted roundtable discussions with private sector leaders to explore further US-India cooperation on financing projects in emerging markets, as well as initiatives focused on advancing clean energy manufacturing.

As part of her visit, Biswal met with key Indian government officials, including Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das, EXIM Bank Managing Director Harsha Bangari, and EXIM Chief General Manager T. D. Sivakumar, to discuss avenues for strengthening economic collaboration between the two nations.

This visit underscores the growing US-India partnership as both countries work together to address pressing development challenges and promote sustainable growth on the global stage.
