Piyush Goyal Leads 200-Member Business Delegation to Japan to Boost Trade & Investment

New Delhi, Aug 24 (KNN) Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal will visit Japan from August 24-27, leading India’s largest-ever business delegation to the country with more than 200 representatives from sectors including manufacturing, semiconductors, clean energy, steel, automotive, financial services, healthcare and startups.

During the four-day visit, Goyal will travel to Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka and hold meetings with Japanese government officials, business leaders and investors to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties.

In Tokyo, he will meet major Japanese companies, hold a roundtable with Keidanren  (Japan Business Federation), and participate in sessions focused on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, startups and foreign institutional investment. He will also hold bilateral talks with Ryosei Akazawa, Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

In Nagoya, Goyal will lead a business roadshow with the Central Japan Economic Federation (Chukeiren) and the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with discussions expected to focus on manufacturing, automotive and steel sector investments.

The visit will conclude in Osaka with an investors and business roadshow and meetings with Japanese companies from the electronics, industrial and consumer sectors, focusing on investment opportunities in India’s manufacturing and clean energy sectors.

The visit is expected to give further momentum to the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership and expand cooperation in trade, investment and high-technology industries.
