AIRIA business delegation sets high hopes of increasing rubber trade with Korea and Taiwan

Mumbai, 15 July (KNN) All India Rubber Industries’ Association (AIRIA) led a business delegation to Taiwan & South Korea in June 2016 to explore the business opportunities. The delegation pointed that India's trade in rubber products with South Korea and Taiwan is skewed in favour of the East Asian countries.

Tej Bhatt, Deputy Secretary General, AIRIA told KNN that, “The main objective of the delegation was to interact and build a network with the rubber industry in both the countries. Business meetings and a visit to R&D facilities to have a better understanding of the technology and skills was another agenda of the delegation.”

There were B2B meetings in both the countries. During the Business to Business meetings the rubber companies were showing keen interest in the transfer of technology, technical know-how and business collaborations.

Mohinder Gupta, President, AIRIA told KNN that the meetings were extremely fruitful and it gave an opportunity to the Delegates to think and re-built a new economic relationship between India – Taiwan and Korea for accelerating greater volume of trade & investment, technology up-gradation, joint ventures and R&D etc. These interactions and business meetings will result in mutual benefits.

“We need to develop close synergies between the Indian rubber industry and with the industry of Taiwan & Korea to enable the development of international brands. There is a lot which both countries can learn and gain from each other”, opined Gupta.

During the visit, delegates were able to understand Taiwan & Korea’s technology, business prospects and techniques. The visit is expected to give a new fillip to the India’s bilateral  trade with Taiwan & South Korea in rubber sector. (KNN/GK)
