New Delhi, Dec 18 (KNN) In order to showcase its potential and strength in organic products and market the brand Organic India, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is planning to participate in Biofach 2014, an international trade fair for organic products at Nuremburg in Germany.

The 25th edition of BIOFACH, the world's leading trade fair for organic food will be held in Germany from February 12–15, 2014.

Over 2,400 exhibitors and more than 40,000 trade buyers are expected to visit the exhibition.

In a bid to identify new markets, provide better support systems to our exporters and manufactures, and introduce new products to the international market, APEDA has invited bids from agencies on turnkey basis to set up their pavilion at BIOFACH.

“The overall look of APEDA pavilion should be contemporary and reflect the colour and vibrancy of modern India,” APEDA said in a notification.

There will be approximately 22-25 co-exhibitors including State Governments, Ministry of Agriculture, exporters and other stakeholders participate in Biofach, the notification added.

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) came into existence in 1986 to develop agricultural commodities and processed foods, and promote their exports.

The main objective of APEDA is to increase agro exports, provide better income to the farmers through higher unit value realization and to create employment opportunities in rural areas by encouraging value added exports of farm produce. (KNN/SD)
