Cartier Women's Initiative Awards calls for applications

New Delhi, Jan 16 (KNN)  Exceptional and committed women entrepreneurs who are heading initiatives with the potential to grow significantly in the years to come are encouraged to apply for Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards.
 
Cartier Awards is a business plan competition for start-ups led by women organized by Cartier in partnership with McKinsey, INSEAD business school and the Women’s Forum.
 
It aims at supporting creative, financially sustainable and responsible women-led start-ups, in all countries and industries.
 
The Award is given annually to six laureates who receive a year of coaching, USD 20,000 in funding, valuable networking opportunities as well as media exposure.
 
The competition is open to women from any country, nationality and industry.
Awards will be given in the categories – Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa, North America and Sub Sahara Africa.
 
The deadline for the submission of applications for the 24th edition of the awards is February-28. 
 
Women leading for-profit responsible enterprises, in a start-up phase between 1 and 3 years of operation are required to submit a short business plan which should be an original for-profit business creation. 
 
It should include an executive summary of the business, project development stage, product or service, sales and distribution strategy, market analysis, competitive environment, management team, SWOT analysis, impact of the business and financials, complete with logo, photos of the product, patents, articles, etc.
 
Further, the main leadership position must be filled by a woman.
 
As far as the procedure for selection is concerned, eighteen finalists representing the best projects worldwide will be selected in the first phase of the contest. They will receive coaching and media exposure and will be invited to France for the Finale week which includes a presentation in front of the international Jury, entrepreneurship workshops and the Global Meeting of the Women’s Forum.
 
Last year, the Asia-Pacific Laureate was Namita Banka from India.  The others were Gabriela Maldonado (Guatemala), Priyanka Bakaya (United States), Leonora O’Brien (Ireland), Bilikiss Adebiyi (Nigeria) and Sima Najjar (Jordan).  (KNN/ES)
