Chinese Envoy meets Mamata Banerjee; expresses interest to invest in mfg, MSME

Kolkata, Mar 3 (KNN) The Chinese Envoy to India, during his meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has shown keen interest to invest in West Bengal, especially in the manufacturing and the MSME sector.

Chinese Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohu on Thursday invited Banerjee to visit his country for exploring business possibilities in manufacturing and other key sectors of the two countries.

During their meeting with Banerjee, which lasted for around 45-minutes, the Chinese diplomat expressed interest to invest in the state, principally in the manufacturing and MSME sectors.

The state government also welcomed them with a promise of providing ready land.

The Ambassador, heading a five-member delegation including Chinese Consul-Genral in Kolkata Ma Zhanwu, called on Banerjee at the state secretariat Nabanna.

“Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to India and the Consul-General of China in Kolkata had a meeting with me at the state secretariat today (Thursday).

“He extended an invitation to us to visit China to explore Bengal-China business possibilities in manufacturing and other key sectors,” Banerjee said in a Facebook post.

Zhaohu and Banerjee had elaborate discussions about the business possibilities in many areas.
