Colombo to host 4th Asia Energy Security Summit

New Delhi, Jan 28 (KNN)  The 4th Asia Energy Security Summit that is aimed at fostering energy security partnership in the region will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from February-26 to 28.
 
The event would provide a platform to discuss trends in the global energy market, identify prospects and develop solutions along with policy makers, industry captains and academic forerunners in the energy community.
 
Participants would know about major forthcoming issues from global energy experts; network with the heads of industry and governments from various parts of Asia; learn about emerging trends in the Asian markets from technical and commercial experts; and engage in one to one business meetings with top level participants.
 
The event is meant for government authorities, policy makers from energy ministries, decision makers, senior diplomats, heads of industries, technical and energy experts and academicians.
 
Key discussions would have to do with the Food, Water and Energy Nexus; Energy Security and Geopolitics of Energy; The shale revolution and its effect on global prices; Transnational trade of electricity - "Connecting Tajikistan to Singapore"; Geopolitical developments in 2013 (Syria, Iran, Iraq) and their impact on Asia energy security; Pipeline and pipelines politics - Role of Russia and its inevitable dominance; Central Asia - Energy dynamics of a land locked region; Renewable Energy - Opportunities and Challenges; and Security of Energy Infrastructure.
