Consultations for Indo-Dutch CSR and sustainability forum held in New Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 15 (KNN) The Center for Responsible Business (CRB) has organized the first in the series of national consultations for establishing the Indo-Dutch CSR and Sustainability Forum (INDUS Forum) in New Delhi.

Ambassador of the Netherlands for India Alphonsus Stoelinga inaugurated the meeting attended by diverse group of stake holders including think-tanks, academia, businesses and MNCs. 

Besides sharing of best practices in the sphere of CSR and sustainability between the Indian and Dutch companies, the Forum aims to enrich theoretical, policy and practical-level understanding  through knowledge and experience sharing.

The Forum is to facilitate B2B dialogues for better understanding of international frameworks in CSR and sustainability and adoption thereof.

Sharing the MSME perspective on the occasion, Secretary General of Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) Anil Bhardwaj said that business environment for doing business in India remained challenging and while pushing international framework of sustainability in the MSME space there was a need to be pragmatic and conscious of the ground realities. 

He welcomed the idea of establishing the INDUS Forum as there was a need to document and share innovative interventions carried out in the field of CSR and sustainability.  

The key speakers included Aditi Haldar of Global Reporting Initiative, Vidya Srinivasan of Genpact, Teenal Sethi of Rabobank; Vasanthi Srinivasan of Board member CRB,  Shiv Charan of DSM Sinochem, Anup Sahay of Tata Steel, Alay Barah of ICCO and Michiel Bierkens from Dutch Embassy.  (KNN Bureau)
