DPIIT & WIPO to soon come out with Global Innovation Index (GII) 2019
New Delhi, July 15 (KNN) The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) along with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will release the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2019 on July 24.
Moving into its 12th edition in 2019, the GII has evolved into a valuable benchmarking tool that can facilitate public-private dialogue and where policy makers, business leaders and other stakeholders can evaluate innovation progress on an annual basis.
The GII looks forward to revealing the innovation rankings of economies and the findings of this years’ theme at the global launch in New Delhi. The GII is a source of insight into the multi-dimensional facets of innovation driven growth.
This index comes up with a detailed examination about the innovation performance of 129 countries and economies around the world. Around 80 various factors are included in this which explores a broad vision of innovation, including political environment, education and infrastructure and business sophistication.
It ranked India as the 57th most innovative nation in the world in 2018 higher than its 60th position the year before that.
Themed around medical innovation this year, the index will analyze the medical innovation landscape of the next decade, looking at how technological and non-technological medical innovation will transform the delivery of healthcare worldwide.
In the future of health care, it will also explore the role and dynamics of medical and the potential influences this may have on economic growth.
