EPCH to promote handicrafts at German trade fair

New Delhi, Dec 17 (KNN)  In a bid to market Indian handicraft products globally, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) is participating in Ambiente 2014 at Messe Frankfurt in Germany.

Indian Handicrafts such as gifts, home textiles, fashion accessories, handicrafts made of glass, metal, wood, ceramic etc will be on display consumer goods trade fair.

To be held from February 7 - 11 Ambiente Fair is the meeting place of an international market that is expected to see around 140,000 trade visitors from 143 countries.   It the central forum for the industry where nearly 4,700 exhibitors come from 81 countries.

“The Council (EPCH) intends to set up a pavilion to display and market the Indian Handicrafts Products,” said an EPCH notification.

In this context, EPCH has seeks agencies to design and construct the India Pavilion.

“The overall look of EPCH India Pavilion should be contemporary and reflect the colour and vibrancy of modern India,” it said.

Messe Frankfurt is Germany’s leading trade fair organiser, with 538 million euros in sales and 1,891 active employees worldwide.
 
Messe Frankfurt’s exhibition grounds, featuring 578,000 square metres, are currently home to ten exhibition halls. The company is publicly owned, with the City of Frankfurt holding 60 per cent and the State of Hesse 40 per cent.  (KNN/SD)
