Addressing 21 CEOs and other business leaders at Seoul, the Prime Minister assured a more stable, predictable and transparent taxation system and outlined the steps taken by his Government, which include fast tracking of approvals in industry and infrastructure, and liberalisation of FDI.
Describing India as a "land of potentials", he said, "India is also a land of enabling policy environment. Moreover, there is renewed commitment of my Government for changing the face of the country...there is a lot we do together".
He said there was tremendous potential for cooperation in areas like water, transportation, railways, sea ports, shipbuilding, electricity including renewable, IT infrastructure and services, electronics, construction industry, all of which are very promising sectors in India.
"It will be known as Korea Plus. In addition I assure you of my personal attention if there are any issues," he said.
Pitching in the 'Make in India' campaign, he said it involved bringing industrial infrastructure, policies and practises to best global standards and to convert India into a global manufacturing hub.
Further, the PM said, “To create employment and self-employment opportunities in the country, we have launched the Skill India Mission and other innovative missions. On the other hand, we have fast tracked approvals in industry and infrastructure. This includes environmental clearances, industrial and shipping licences. In addition, we also enhanced the FDI limits in key sectors like Defence and Insurance.”
He also mentioned that Moody’s many international financial institutions including the World Bank, IMF, OECD and others are predicting even faster growth in the coming years. MOODY’s have recently upgraded the rating of India as positive on account of our concrete steps in various economic segments, he said. (KNN/DB)
