India And South Korea Forge Logistics Partnership To Boost Infrastructure Development

New Delhi, Feb 11 (KNN) In a significant development for Indo-Korean cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Monday at the Sejong National Research Complex in South Korea, establishing a partnership between India's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and the Korea Transport Institute.

The agreement was formalised by Korea Transport Institute President Youngchan Kim and India's Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, H.E. Amit Kumar.

The collaboration aims to leverage South Korea's expertise in logistics and infrastructure development to support India's ambitious development initiatives.

The partnership will facilitate knowledge exchange and institutional cooperation between KOTI and the Logistics Division of DPIIT, particularly focusing on the implementation of infrastructure and logistics master plans under India's PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.

Central to this partnership is the establishment of a research-driven program designed to enhance expertise through training and technical assistance.

The agreement emphasises cross-learning opportunities in critical areas including master planning, technology adoption, and innovation.

A notable aspect of the collaboration will be the global promotion of GIS data-based technology and the showcasing of achievements under the PM GatiShakti initiative.

The two nations will conduct joint working meetings to advance these objectives, marking what officials describe as a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations and fostering innovation in logistics and infrastructure development.

This partnership represents a strategic alignment of interests between India's infrastructure ambitions and South Korea's technological expertise in the transportation sector.
