India-Sichuan Chamber to enhance economic & trade relations

Signatories to the MOU which will be signed on January-11 are General Secretary China Chamber of International Commerce, Sichuan Chamber, Yang Shibo and Secretary General, China India Trade and Investment Centre (CITIC – Gujarat), Jagat Shah, according to an official release.
Both parties will agree to exercise their best efforts to develop cooperation in various areas such as strengthening economic and trade cooperation in information, interactive transmission of both trade and investment management policies, economic situation, market demand and supply and major economic and trade activities information.
Focus will be in the sectors of agriculture machinery, seeding technology, food processing, thermal/hydro power stations, IT, energy saving technology, electronics, women garments and footwear, furniture, construction material, Buddhist tourism circuit, innovation centre, banking relations, direct flight between Chengdu and Ahmedabad etc, it said.
In addition, both parties would set up import, export and innovation incubation mechanism to enhance both corporate and product promotion. They would also build up internationalized platforms for both corporations to realize “introduce products; get acquainted with merchants to achieve cooperation" through web link, economic and trade promotion and match-making event. Further, Buddhist circuit link will be developed between Gujarat and Sichuan, under the MOU.
Also, talks would be initiated for sister city agreement between Chengdu and Gandhinagar. (KNN/ES)
