India to help Bangladesh in various sectors of science & technology

India and Bangladesh have held bilateral talks for cooperation in fields of Science, Technology, Oceanography, Earth Sciences and Atomic Energy among others. Detailed discussions were held when the visiting Bangladesh delegation led by its Minister for Science & Technology Yeafesh Osman met the Indian side led by the Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Harsh Vardhan in here on Tuesday.
India assured Bangladesh that it would get all the help in various sectors of Science & Technology including in the field of Atomic Energy. During the meeting, it was conveyed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given instructions to extend every kind of help as asked by the Bangladesh.
Harsh Vardhan said both the countries should identify various areas for cooperation in the field of oceanography, earth sciences, in the field of water treatment for arsenic or in any other field for the benefit of people of that country. He recalled his meetings with various leaders of Bangladesh including the country’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina when he had visited that country earlier.
Meanwhile, Osman has said that prime ministers of both the countries are very keen for putting the science and technology to use for the benefit of the people and the cooperation in this field should further strengthen the bilateral bonds. (KNN Bureau)
