New Delhi, Oct 7 (KNN)  With a view to shaping cooperation between Germany and India in the field of vocational education and training, an Indo-German conference on skill development will be held here.

‘Skilled Germany – Skilled India’ is the theme of the Indo-German Conference on Skill Development to be held here tomorrow.

“The conference’s goal is to show and discuss the strength and advantages of the renowned dual German System and to address the relevant questions for realizing the Indian Government’s priority goal “Skill India”: How to realize effective cooperation between state authorities and private companies? What are the models, instruments, and experiences? How can a work-based dual apprenticeship system, like the German model, create state-of-the art, market-oriented and demand-driven vocational education for the Indian youth?” an official release said.

The conference shall serve as an open platform for a dialogue between relevant Indian and German actors to shape their cooperation in vocational education and training.

This is certainly in keeping with the latest telephone conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chancellor Angela Merkel, during which the Prime Minister called Germany the “natural partner” when it comes to Skill Development.

The conferenced is organized in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment, India.  (KNN/ES)
